As you can see from the illustration below, the new highway, part of the Ministry of Transportation's expansion of the Okanagan Valley Corridor, will be upgraded from two lanes to four lanes and will be realigned so that it sits west of the existing highway.
The realigned section of highway will run just below The Lakes subdivision; however, this will have zero impact on the homes at Cadence due to the buffer zone created by Phase 3 of The Lakes and the fact that the highway is situated downhill from the development. So not only will this expansion have no negative impact on Cadence, it will actually benefit our residents by increasing road capacity in the area, creating a safer driving environment and reducing travel times between Lake Country and Vernon.
